The Mascara Files: Wand Types

themasscarapost9

Your wand shape will tell you a lot about what your lashes are supposed to look like when you use a mascara. A curved brush is meant to curl lashes, big crazy brushes are meant to give big fluffy lashes. Tiny rubber brushes are meant for precision work and usually make long, neat lashes. Triangular brushes put more length on the outer corners and less on the inner. Here’s a photo of some of the different brush shapes and how each applied mascara on my eyelashes.

mac opulash, ysl babydoll, make up for ever smoky extravagant, too faced better than sex, lancôme hypnôse

As you can see, it’s pretty accurate. YSL Babydoll provided me long, separated lashes, Make Up For Ever’s Smoky Extravagant gave me much longer lashes on the outer corner than inner, Too Faced Better Than Sex gave me thick, long lashes, and it’s a little hard to tell but Lancôme Hypnôse gave me curved lashes, which is why they look so spread out.

I decided to make a chart of my mascara for you guys so you can see different brush shapes if you are considering buying mascara! This is everything I have on hand, if you have questions on how any apply you can ask below!
